Things will be a little quiet on the team front until the new arrivals get to Austin in early June, but we’ll continue to plug away and try and ask sources questions we have when they arise.
The most important scrimmage of the week isn’t Saturday, it occurred on Wednesday when the first and second team each went about 30 plays. Predictably, the offense won. The defense didn’t play too poorly, other than shooting itself in the foot with penalties.
Today’s practice was much lighter, and mainly just a rehearsal for Saturday’s production.
Like in recent weeks, the team portion will follow as soon as we have it.

With the Spring game just over a week away, we’ll take a closer look at the early confirmed visitors. With so many major programs holding this event on the same day, the prospects you see arrive in Austin next Saturday could be a valuable data point in the class of 2020 and beyond. Or it might not be, but that’ll be for us to discover.
You guys know the drill, it’s zero-sum, which is an important detail this week as the offensive line is struggling with the defensive line. That’s to be expected, but as you’ll read, there’s still plenty of optimism with Herb Hand’s group.

While most of the players and coaches scattered during Spring Break, the group as a whole had a great first week of practice and a little more information straggled in late. The team will return to Austin this weekend sunburned, smiling, and hopefully ready to smack each other for three consecutive weeks. The first day back is always a rude awakening.

The first lull in the off-season is already almost over. Spring practice begins March 11th and ends on April 13th before the long lull in the off-season.
